Greetings!
It surely has been a quick, busy fall around our offices and we imagine it has been the same for you. Yet, during this season of gratitude, we wanted to stop and share stories of our generous community and the news of our growing law firm.
In this newsletter, we are revisiting Gerry’s Café’s amazing, ongoing fundraising story and sharing an update on our generous donors exceeding our match goal. We are also partnering with One Warm Coat again this holiday season to collect gently worn coats for local distribution. Plus, we’re celebrating local live music favorite Hey Nonny on their one-year anniversary!
Additionally, we want to share safety information about the latest smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. And here at The Law Offices of RF Wittmeyer, Ltd., we are especially excited for you to meet our newest attorney, Gregory W. La Cost, who leads our expansion into Kenosha, Wisconsin, helping us serve our communities even better.

Our Kenosha, Wisconsin Office Now Open
The Law Offices of RF Wittmeyer, Ltd. is pleased to announce the addition of Attorney Greg La Cost. He will be heading up our expansion into Wisconsin, anchoring our downtown Kenosha office. Attorney La Cost brings a diverse legal background as a skilled consumer advocate and continues to focus solely on practicing plaintiff’s personal injury law. His sincere and compassionate approach is evident in his everyday interactions with our clients.
Gerry’s Café – A Community Driven Fundraiser
In just seventeen short days, our RFW Facebook community matched and exceeded our goal of raising $1,000 in a matching donation drive. In fact, we were able to donate $2,280 to Gerry’s Café! Local organizers Natalie Griffin and Amy Philpott’s mission is to open this café in Arlington Heights, Illinois, where they will hire, train, and supervise approximately 30 adults (22+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The café will serve coffees, fresh-baked pastries, and café-style breakfasts and lunches, including catering with delivery services—providing job opportunities and competitive wages for many capable adults in our community.

Partnering Again With One Warm Coat
Following amazing community support last year, we are excited to again partner with One Warm Coat, an international nonprofit that provides free, warm coats to anyone in need. They’ve hosted over 34,000 coat drives in all 50 states and 10 countries—resulting in over 6 million coats donated to date!
Our coat drive runs from November 20th to December 20th. Clean, gently used coats or new jackets can be dropped off at our office from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Follow us on social media for updates on this initiative.
Time to Update Your Smoke Alarms & Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Many New Product Choices Available
Hopefully you checked your smoke detectors when we changed the clocks, but there’s more to consider. New product improvements offer options like talking smoke detectors that alert your family of problems or smart detectors that connect to devices like Alexa or Nest so you can monitor alerts on your phone.
We found a helpful site listing the top 15 rated smoke detectors, including their features and pricing. Consider upgrading to take advantage of the latest fire safety innovations.
Happy 1st Birthday Hey Nonny!
Listening to great live music is a passion of ours at RF Wittmeyer, so it’s been a pleasure sponsoring the HeyDay Happy Hour at Hey Nonny, Arlington Heights’ hottest new venue.
This locally owned spot features a farm-to-table bistro and intimate listening room. You might even run into the owners—Chip and Patricia Brooks or Chris and Sue Dungan—while attending a show. Open six days a week, Hey Nonny requires tickets for most performances.
Join us Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm when we raffle off Hey Nonny gift cards to attendees!
