Thank you so much. It’s an honor to have received this scholarship! I couldn’t have picked a better one to apply for. Community service is such an easy topic for me to talk about since I love helping people and making a change. To have been awarded a community service scholarship means all the effort I’ve put forward towards my community and others has came back to thank me. Thank you for picking me for this scholarship! Finally, thank you to all of our applicants. Please check back next year to apply again.

On the last weekend in July, car fans from around the country come to the AMC Homecoming Races at the Great Lakes Dragway in Kenosha County. Not only is this a great opportunity to connect with a community of like-minded car lovers, but it has plenty of events and sights for the whole family. This year, there were around 50 vendors and over 100 classic cars attending all the different events this Homecoming Race had to offer. We were so proud to sponsor such a fun, community-building event and cruise around Kenosha!
As the pandemic began to unfold, we wanted to support, in some way, many of our beloved local restaurants. Help Our Arlington Heights Restaurants was born from there. For ten weeks, when our readers submitted their choice of a favorite restaurant, they were automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a restaurant gift card. And it went so well; we expanded the contest to vote for their favorite Hispanic restaurant, reaching another set of our loved, local spots. Find out more about the chosen restaurants here
Our local Northwest Suburban Bar Association Women’s Law Committee held a clothing and toiletry drive for Women Veterans in October 2019. Specifically, the call was for work clothes. This quick little clothing drive was kept within our office, yet our team delivered many useful and lovely clothing items. Although a simple idea, we understand the committee’s drive was a much-appreciated success. For more information on this event, check out our NWSBA Networking Night page
In the past, we partnered with One Warm Coat to collect coats and donations to help keep members of our community warm throughout the colder months. With your help, we collected more than 200 coats over the past 2 years that were donated to men, women, and children in our community. We are excited to support our community through this initiative again this year. To learn more about how you can donate, visit our One Warm Coat Drive page.
Our firm continues to be excited at the significant progress Gerry’s Cafe continues to make toward the goal of opening a local cafe that will offer competitive employment to exceptional individuals with intellectual disabilities, age 22 and older. In the summer of 2019, we held a $1,000 matching fundraiser supporting the cafe on Facebook. In just a little over two weeks, we collected $1140, which we matched for a total donation of $2280. Natalie Porter Griffin, one of the cofounders of the cafe, said it best, “Such joyful news! Thank you, everyone.”
