WITTMEYER BRIEFS – Summer Newsletter 2023
INTERN SPOTLIGHT: Josh and the Internship Program
Four years ago, a client inquired about a summer internship for his son Josh, a high school graduate. Although we hadn’t offered internships before, we interviewed Josh and began our student internship experiment.
Josh quickly proved himself by assisting with scanning and data entry, and later with editing evidence videos, digital trial presentations, and supporting our courtroom tech setup. His intelligence, respectfulness, and strong work ethic stood out.
Due to his tech skills, Josh was added to a four-person team to design and implement our cloud-based case management system, Filevine. The project included:
-
6 months building templates, task flows, and systems
-
2 months of data migration planning
-
6+ months of training and implementation
Josh’s summer internship turned into four years of consistent employment. He grew both professionally and academically, taking ownership of his work and contributing significantly to our tech-driven operations.
Because of the success of our internship program with Josh, we now regularly employ student interns, offering real-world experiences while benefiting from their fresh perspectives.
