Niles, Illinois Car Accident Attorney

In 2011, Niles was named as one of the top communities in the country to raise your kids. Most likely, the 30,000 residents believe that! The first suburb that a Chicagoan will discover heading north on Milwaukee Ave., Niles was incorporated in 1899 and was one of the first communities in the United States to offer free ambulance services in 1946. It did not hurt that Lutheran General Hospital was right outside its borders!

Niles Car Accidents and Truck Accidents

In June 2016, a 55-year-old man died in a five vehicle crash on eastbound Dempster. The man was driving at a high speed. Officials say he appeared to be experiencing some type of medical distress. He hit a curb and then rear ended a semi-tracker trailer. He then caused a chain reaction of accidents by hiting a minivan which hit two other vehicles. The accident shut down Dempster Street between Harlem and Oketo.

In addition to Dempster, Milwaukee Avenue and Waukegan Road run through Niles. The amount of traffic that travels through this busy northern suburb can produce many car accidents. If you or someone you know has been injured in a car accident or truck accident in Niles, please contact the Law Offices of R.F. Wittmeyer, Ltd. today at 847-577-1123.

Notable Landmarks in Niles

Niles

In the film Wayne’s World, it’s hard to forget a Leaning Tower of Pisa. This replica is a point of pride among Niles’ residents – the Leaning Tower of Niles. The community has many summer events and concerts at this landmark off of Touhy Rd. Completed in 1934, Robert Ilg built the Niles tower to store water for public swimming pools and to serve as a recreation park for Ilg’s employees.

Additionally, two of the largest cemeteries in the suburbs can be found in Niles: St. Adalbert Cemetary and Maryhill Cemetery. Down the road from Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, the cemetieis are the final resting places for Fredrak Fraske, a German immigrant who was the last surviving veteran of the Indian Wars and George Halas, legendary coach of the Chicago Bears.

Niles residents also shop at Golf Mill Shopping Mill. Shoppers head to the corner of Golf Rd. and Milwaukee Ave to visit Golf Mill. Founded in 1960, the mall serves the northwest Chicago communities including Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Skokie, Glenview, and Mt. Prospect. Many residents take Pace Buses to get to the mall. If you or anyone you know has been injured in a public transportation accident, either on a bus or a train, please contact the Law Offices of R.F. Wittmeyer, Ltd. for a free consultation.
