Rolling Meadows, IL

Right next to Arlington Heights sits the suburb of Rolling Meadows. With Highway 53 cutting right through the middle and the Jane Addams Expressway as its southern boundary, Rolling Meadows is home to about 25,000 residents. Half of its residents attend Rolling Meadows High School, while the other half attend Fremd High School in Palatine. On the southern end of Rolling Meadows sits the “Golden Corridor”. It is coined as such since the corridor generates a “gold” mine of economic profit for communities in the area. Several Fortune 500 company headquarters, office parks, industrial parks, exhibition and entertainment centers, medical facilities, hotels, shopping centers, and restaurants are located along the Golden Corridor.

Rolling Meadows is known for having a vibrant park district, including Salk Park, Countryside, Florey, and Kimball Hill. Rolling Meadows is also home to two ice arenas: West Meadows Ice Arena and the Nelson Sport Complex. At the ice arenas, residents can skate or join recreational hockey teams in an effort to emulate the hometown Chicago Blackhawks.

The Courthouse is across the street from Arlington Racetrack. Not far from Rolling Meadows is Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
The Carillon Bell Tower is considered the “crown jewel” of the revitalization of downtown Rolling Meadows. The 40-foot bell tower memorial remembers servicemen of all wars. In 1993, an effort to breathe new life into the downtown area and increase its popularity, city leaders in Rolling Meadows, undertook a revitalization program that included visual improvements, construction and improved lighting. The tower was the centerpiece.
