As we near the All-Star break, the Chicago Cubs are 23 games above .500 with a solid line-up and pitching staff. A key member of the team is Anthony Rizzo, the two-time All-Star first baseman. Through 70 games, Rizzo has hit 17 home runs, 54 RBIs, and is batting .279. If he maintains this pace, Rizzo will have his best season to date as the Cubs make a run for the pennant! And on Tuesday, July 12, baseball’s best will play San Diego’s Petco Park for the 2016 All-Star Game and based on voting by fans, the Cubs first baseman should be on his way!

In addition to being an All-Star ballplayer, he is also an All-Star person. Anthony Rizzo was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in April 2008 and began the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation in 2012 to benefit cancer research and the families fighting the disease.
