With the St. Louis Cardinals in the rear view mirror, the Law Offices of R.F. Wittmeyer, Ltd. want to congratulate the Chicago Cubs for making the playoffs, winning their one-game Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and defeating their arch-rival in the National League Division Series. In fact, we hope they continue to win many more games on the road to the World Series. The Cubs have not won the World Series in 106 years, the longest championship drought of any major North American professional sports team, and are often referred to as the “Lovable Losers” because of this distinction. Every year, legions of Cubs fans say, “Wait ’til next year.” No matter the opponent in the National League Championship Series, we wish the Cubs the best, so the wait will be over.
